Shipping Delays Still Serious as America Slowly Reopens

Major Carriers are Still Experiencing Hefty Shipping Delays

The United States is phasing itself back into normalcy. But major shipping companies are still struggling to maintain supply chains and keep up with their regular delivery times. All of these shipping delays are causing problems for vendors, factories, warehouses, and retailers. And all of that trickles down and causes pools of difficulty for consumers and B2B customers alike.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, countless millions of American consumers turned toward online shopping. Temporarily gone were many of the brick and mortar retail and service businesses we’ve all depended on for so long. Businesses have had to transition toward local delivery services to make do. And online retailers have seen major upticks in the number of virtual shopping carts they’ve needed to fulfill.

This new, unprecedented volume in shipping necessity has done a real number on delivery times. Shipping delays are the new norm for carriers like FedEx, UPS, DHL, and the United States Postal service, as well as the freight shipping solutions companies like Tent and Table rely on to deliver larger orders to businesses and consumers alike.

These shipping companies are rightfully prioritizing essential shipments first. Medical supplies and other critical items are taking the highest priority with all of the most reputable companies. Shipping delays are understandable, and most of these issues haven’t been too extreme given the circumstances.

COVID-19 has caused serious disruptions and service lag in global supply chains. Shipping delays have become a temporary new norm.
