How to Heat a Party Tent in Winter: Here’s What You Need

Just because the weather is about to get cold doesn’t mean that the parties and get-togethers will stop. In fact, it means the exact opposite. Not everyone’s home is the best place to hold a big group of people, though, and the best option is a party tent. But how is that supposed to work in the winter on the East Coast, with biting wind and heavy snow?

Being that Tent and Table is located between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, we know all there is to know about lake effect snow. Actually, that’s one of Buffalo’s most famous attributes! Our weather, the beautiful Niagara Falls, and our world-renowned chicken wings are what put us on the map for a lot of people.

So, yes. We know snow. That means we know how to handle a party tent in the winter - and you can too. All you need to do is know how to heat it!

To heat a party tent in winter, you need an energy-efficient outdoor heater, a cost-effective diffuser (this part is optional, but we recommend it to all of our customers), and a few tent sidewalls to make sure that warm air doesn’t escape into the night. Just add fuel for the heater and you’ll be good to go with your toasty warm party tent.

Using an Outdoor Heater

To heat your outdoor party tent adequately, you’ll need to invest in an outdoor heater. Luckily, at Tent and Table, we’ve got plenty of options for you to choose from, in a variety of different sizes. With our diverse selection, you’re sure to find something that suits the size of tent that you’re looking to heat.

The most popular type of fuel that tent heaters run on is propane, but they can run on a variety of fuel types. We make sure only to sell commercial grade, fuel-efficient heaters that are easy to use. When you invest in a heater from Tent and Table, you can be sure that it will function at a high capacity for an extended period of time without you needing to refuel it constantly.

We promised easy use, and that’s a promise we will follow through on. To heat your outdoor party tent, all you need to do is position the heater inside of the tent and follow the directions included on how to set it up. It won’t be long before the interior of your tent is nice and cozy.

Adding Diffusers

It’s true that tent heaters can be pretty bulky, and when you position them inside a party tent, they take up a fair amount of space. If your party tent isn’t very big and you’re already struggling to make room for tables, chairs, and guests, you might want to invest in a diffuser

Diffusers are similar to heating ducts in your house. While ducts circulate the warm air from your furnace throughout your home, diffusers bring the warm air from a heater positioned outside to circulate it within your party tent. When you use diffusers, you get the most out of the interior of your party tent and stay warm at the same time. It’s a win/win scenario.

Diffusers are placed beneath the tent sidewall, which allows the heater to stay outside while the warm air makes its way in. To heat your party tent, you could also use a distribution duct that’s connected between the heater and the diffuser, as this creates more space between your heater and your tent sidewalls.

Diffusers work efficiently while remaining out of sight and out of mind. When you invest in them, you allow your guests to have a great time without shivering, and without squeezing past a big heating unit all night.

Heating A Party Tent is Easy

If you’re throwing an outdoor get-together during the winter in Buffalo, there’s no way you can do so without an outdoor heating unit. These heaters keep your party tents warm and your environment pleasant - so pleasant that you and your guests might even forget that you’re outside at all.

If you’re not throwing any outdoor gatherings this winter, you might still have use for an outdoor heater. If you or someone you love enjoys doing work year-round in a warehouse or garage, you know how chilly those places can get. Space heaters are small, and can only do so much. Our outdoor heaters, on the other hand, can be placed inside these buildings and heat the interior to a comfortable level so you can work to your heart’s content.

I live in Central Illinois and my barn is an event venue. We have added a 2400 square-foot pavilion that has no sidewalls. The budget is very very limited and I would appreciate your advice.
We are having a craft show December 14 I need to enclose the pavilion and have heaters there will be about 15 to 18 vendors in there. My first thought was to rent heaters for the day. I am also debating between Adding steel like the roof on at least one or two sides. Would that hold the heat inside better than tent sidewalls? I don’t want to have to worry if I’m running out of propane or electric heaters cost effective and do they put out lots of heat?I am anxious to hear your thoughts and thank you. 309-830-5358

Hey Michele,

Two reliable heater options for a 10x30 party tent would be an <a href="https://www.tentandtable.net/l-b-white-premier-80-df-outdoor-heater.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">L.B.
